Climate Change Adaptation Planning: North Kingstown, R.I.

The town of North Kingstown, R.I., a shoreline community working with CRC and Rhode Island Sea Grant, is one of several municipalities around the country honored by the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for exemplary climate change adaptation efforts that counter impacts such as flooding and erosion.

The Walter B. Jones & NOAA Excellence Awards for Coastal and Ocean Management recognize exemplary leadership and a commitment to balancing the human use of coastal and ocean resources with the needs of the environment. The national awards are given every two years.
