URI and the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries have agreed to a partnership that will send more than two dozen ministry staff to URI to study ocean and fisheries management. The agreement builds on more than three decades of cooperative work between Indonesia and CRC. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., hosted the signing ceremony for URI President Dooley and the Indonesian ministry director general Gellwyn Jusuf, an alumnus of URI’s marine resource economics graduate program.
