The BALANCED Project has produced a number of video ‘Stories from the Field’. These are videos produced to showcase the implementation of integrated population, health and environment work we support.

What is PHE?

This video clip explains the concept of the integrated population, health, and environment (PHE) approach. It describes what PHE is, the problems that the PHE approach seeks to address, and where the PHE approach is best suited.

The footage was taken in Ubay, Talibon, and Bien Unido municipalities, Philippines and in the Pangani and Bagamoyo districts, Tanzania.

What are the benefits of PHE?

This video clip explains the benefits of integrating activities that address population, health, and environment (PHE). The footage was taken in Ubay, Talibon, and Bien Unido municipalities, Philippines and in the Pangani and Bagamoyo districts, Tanzania.

How is PHE implemented in the field?

This video clip describes how integrated population, health, and environment (PHE) projects are implemented in the field. It explains how the PHE approach promotes health- seeking and pro-environment behaviors though effective information, education, and communication activities and through a volunteer peer educator system.

The footage was taken in Ubay, Talibon, and Bien Unido municipalities, Philippines and in the Pangani and Bagamoyo Districts, Tanzania.

Why PHE South-South learning exchanges?

This video clip gives a brief overview of a South-to-South study tour organized in the Philippines in 2010. The study tour was a cross-institutional learning opportunity, which exposed participants to a successful model of the population, health, environment approach. It also fostered collaboration between executives from government and nongovernmental organizations from the same countries and provided the opportunity to jointly develop a country plan of action for adapting best practices in PHE service delivery for replication in their country settings.

The footage was taken in Ubay, Talibon, and Bien Unido municipalities, Philippines and in the Pangani and Bagamoyo Districts, Tanzania.
