Helping the National Park Service Assess Vulnerability of Northeast Region Parks to Flooding and Erosion

This project is providing technical assistance to the U.S. National Park Service so it can develop and apply a vulnerability assessment tool to identify and prioritize park areas and cultural and historical assets, at its nine Northeast sites, threatened by coastal and riverine flooding and erosion. The project is providing park managers with workshops so they can directly apply:

Scientific data to aid in identifying the susceptibility of resources to flooding and erosion, as well as when impacts are expected and how they could be compounded by existing stressors.

The best available modeling tools and techniques for understanding how a variety of natural, historical and cultural assets could be impacted in coastal and riverine environments.
