Providing Resilience Education for Planning in Rhode Island | PREP-RI

erosion_kidsThis project has been funded by the Rhode Island General Assembly to implement actions that would increase the capacity of municipal decision-makers to enhance local resilience to the effects of natural hazards and climate change, particularly sea level rise and storm surge.

This online module series aims to increase the capacity of municipal decision-makers to make effective choices supporting resilience to the current and future impacts of climate change. Relevant examples and lessons learned from Rhode Island communities are included, as well as ways to use resources and tools in decision-making. PREP-RI builds upon existing State efforts and is the product of collaboration among local experts and practitioners from a variety of fields.

Although geared toward municipal decision makers this online tool is available to anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of:

  • Climate Change in RI
  • Flooding
  • Infrastructure
  • Stormwater
  • Mapping Tools
  • Adaptation
