The Indonesian Government is committed to improving fisheries management. One area of focus for IMACS is to review existing fisheries management plans (FMP) and develop an effective model plan that meets international standards, including the guidelines for preparation. The process for developing a FMP is as important to its success as the content. Therefore, the processes used in the past will be reviewed and improved upon as needed to ensure that all stakeholders are included. Training workshops will be held in-country and Indonesians will attend fisheries courses at URI.
