The Coastal Resources Center convened a workshop in the Eastern Visayas to examine ways in which to strengthen provincial-level policies for marine conservation. The objective was to identify the needs and steps for a provincial policy in marine conservation and relate it to the national framework for coastal management. Individuals and institutions were identified who could serve as catalysts for enhancing the provincial capacity to undertake coastal management efforts and effect policy. Workshop proceedings were published and distributed.
