Coastal Community Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation

The Coastal Resources Center (CRC) is advising Indonesian Marine and Climate Support (IMACS) project partners about methods for assessing community resilience to climate change and other coastal hazards. The project developed a rapid village assessment tool that will be used by the national government as part of their larger coastal resilience program, which is still evolving. CRC will support the project by evaluating the IMACS assessment tools and recommending how decision makers can use the information. CRC will also advise IMACS on methods for communicating resilience and climate change issues to communities and governments. In the face of changing resource conditions, people need options to support their livelihoods. To that end, CRC will train government officials and community groups on good practices for designing new conservation-based enterprises.
