The Metro Bay Special Area Management Plan (SAMP) boundary includes the coastal redevelopment areas of the four cities located in Northern Narragansett Bay: Providence, East Providence, Cranston, and Pawtucket. The Metro Bay SAMP will focus on regional issues including: floodplain redevelopment, stormwater management, public access to and along the shoreline, increased recreational development on the water, maintenance of traditional water dependent uses, brownfield redevelopment, and habitat preservation and restoration.
