The Coastal Resources Center (CRC) reviewed applications and evaluated them based on selection criteria and provided an advisory report to the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA). This work was based on a prior effort by RIEMA and the municipalities to do assessments of risk and vulnerability and to devise mitigation strategies. Funding for actual implementation of mitigation followed the creation and development of risk assessment and approved strategies.
