Climate Change Adaptation for Coastal Wetlands

As a member of an multi-disciplinary team, CRC is working with the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council to facilitate a process with public, private and community partners to analyze  coastal wetlands threatened by accelerating sea level rise and advance strategies for adaptive climate change management approaches. The project, supported by federal Coastal and Ocean Climate Applications (COCA) funds from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, engages communities throughout coastal Rhode Island in education activities focused on understanding the value and threats to coastal wetlands, identifying strategies to reduce future impacts, and building community capacity to implement protective policies and practices.
