Here’s how Rhode Island can begin to resist rising seas

Here’s how Rhode Island can begin to resist rising seas, Alex Kuffner, Providence Journal, October 9, 2017

Describes various efforts to manage sea level rise and storm surge based, in part, on conversations that happened with RI GRIP during its Oakland Beach site visit.

“Gone are the days when coastal infrastructure could be built for a slowly changing environment. Rising seas, accelerated erosion and higher storm surges are expected to lead to more rapid and drastic changes. “We’re trying to build a thought process in which you… account for changing conditions,” said Grover Fugate, executive director of the CRMC.”
