Beach SAMP: Rhode Island Shoreline Change Special Area Management Plan

CRC coordinating the  development of the Rhode Island Beach Special Area Management Plan (SAMP), a regulatory document of the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council focused on understanding how erosion and inundation have transformed significant portions of the state’s coastline. The project will examine how to enhance coastal management policies or to create new ones that can can help communities adapt while working in concert with state and local governments and the private sector. Such actions are needed to accommodate major climate change impacts, such as sea level rise and increased storminess.
