The Coastal Resources Center (CRC) contributed to the design and development of a web-based advisory support system that included the ReefCheck (RC) database and a system for inputting raw data and outputting comparisons between 1) the surveyed reef and that same reef during previous surveys; 2)the surveyed reef and nearby reefs; and 3) the surveyed reef and other reefs in the region. CRC’s main contribution is to offer expert advice on the management actions that might be taken to improve reef conditions. The advice was linked to case studies and/or international organizations’ websites that are implementing good management practices for reefs. Coral reef issues papers were made available on both the Reef Check and CRC websites.
